2 Day Hands-On Knife Making Seminar

Each Student has the opportunity to create their own hand crafted knife.

 

Class in Session 

During the seminar you will learn several tips, techniques, and tricks of the craft that your instructors have been mastering over the course of several years.  

  •  Safety is always of extreme importance and will be observed at all times.

  • Terms of Liability must be signed prior to the classroom training

  • You will be creating your knife by the "stock removal method" from beginning to completion. 

  • You will learn about the different kinds of  steels used in knife making

  • You will be able to identify the suitability of scrap steel

  • Knife design and Layout

  • Fitting and Soldering guards

  • Handle fitting

  • Forging steel

  • Heat Treating with Hardening and Tempering techniques

  • Grinding and Polishing

  • Filing Techniques 

  • Sharpening 

  • Customization

  • Handouts and Literature Supplied

  • Catalogs and technical information

  • Print outs 

  • Basic materials for knife and exotic handle supplied (special materials at extra charge)

SPECIAL Pipe Tomahawk Class
We are pleased to announce a special seminar by Bill Keeler. The student will be forging a pipe tomahawk from a rifle barrel. The student will also be learning how to do pewter inlays in the handle and drilling the handle to to achieve a pipe tomahawk. We want everyone who takes the class to leave the class with a pipe tomahawk.
